If they are shivering or hunched up like this girl, they are cold.

I have lots of options for keeping them warm, comfortable and.......

Stylish!

Even those hard to fit furkids.  I make each coat custom, just for your pup.  Give me your measurements, choose your options and I'll get it done.

Made by De is going to the show!

Made by De
will be at the
Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club
Dog Show.
10/28 to 10/30/16

Love this Irish Setter!

If you happen to be in the Greeley, Colorado, area next weekend, I'll be setting up a booth to sell my wares at the dog show.  You don't have to have a show dog, however.  You can just watch. There will be lots of cool, beautiful, show dogs on site.

Cute little cocker spaniel in a snood.

I'll have lots of slinkies, snoods, cool coats, dog diapers, etc. on hand, as well as winter dog coats and fleece coats; ready to go on the spot.

Love the pink cool coat on this little girl!

If I don't have what you want or need for your pup on the spot, I can make custom stuff!  I'll measure your pup on site and sometimes have it back the next day.  At the very least, it is in the mail in about a week.

And, you know..........it is the end of October.  Is it too early to talk Christmas presents?  You can order those on site as well.  Or check out www.madebyde.com to order when you're more in the Christmas spirit.  I just might have a sale or two coming up, so you might want to follow me on Facebook or Instagram.

Made by De
Custom Dog Clothes

Have you bought something from Made by De?  I LOVE to get pictures of my clients in their stuff!  If you have, send me a picture of your pup modelling their Made by De dogwear and I'll send you a coupon code for 25 percent off your next order.  I'll use the pictures of your pup on my social media sites.  They could be famous(ish).

Your discount will be good for one order, the whole order, any item(s).  This could really come in handy for Christmas presents (hint, hint) or for keeping your pup warm this fall.  Just email pictures to coatsmadebyde@gmail.com and I'll send you the code.

Here are some of my favorites pictures so far!

That FACE!  She hates the snow, but doesn't she look cute in her pink pjs? At least now she'll be warmer.

This girl (named Fancy, of course) loves her glamourous clothes. This coat has silver metalic trim on it.  She has some coats with fashion fabrics and even with her name embroidered on them.

These two brothers got new winter coats made just for them.  Here they are modelling their new duds!

This guy had a hard time finding a coat for his muscular frame, but I made him a coat that fit, with all the bells and whistles.

And this guy wanted to look manly, but also stay warm, so camo with a hood were just the thing!

I can't wait to see your pictures!

Custom dog coats! Why settle for cookie cutter dog clothes?

Custom Dog Coats created by
Made by De

I started my business, Made by De, to fill a need.

Before there was Made by De, I was helping a friend sell some dog clothes online.  Every day I would have someone tell me something to the effect of "I have this dog who.........".  Maybe they were an odd mix.  Maybe they were a breed of dog that is difficult to fit with the standard pet store clothes (thinking dachshund, bulldog, pug.....). Maybe they had a special need.

I started making coats for these people and their pups and they would tell their friends that there was someone who could fit their dog.  Someone who could make a coat with the perfect combination of color, features and fit.  I started Made by De and have not looked back. My goal is to provide the best fitting, most comfortable and durable products possible for your pup.

Reasons why you might buy custom.....

1) Convenience.  You can pick up a coat at a pet store or big box store.  Quick, right?  Except you get home and it doesn't fit your pup so you take it back. You take time out to go to the store, shop and return home twice! I can make a coat specifically for your dog using his or her measurements.  It takes about a week plus shipping time, but it fits!  You are probably actually out less time because you shop online and don't even have to leave the house to get your dog a coat.  Custom is more convenient in the long run.

2) Cost.  You can find inexpensive (cheap) dog clothes.  How long do they last your pup?  Maybe a couple of wearings?  My custom dog coats are made of quality fabrics and notions.  Sewn with attention to durability, comfort and looks.  They cost a bit more than a coat from a big box store, but if you only buy one instead of several, the cost is actually less.

3) Features. At the pet store, they have a selection of coats.  But what if they don't have the color you want in the size you want for your dog?  What if you want a coat with reflective strips AND a hood but they only have one or the other and maybe not in the size you need.  Custom at Made by De means you get the color you want, the fit your dog wants, the features you want, all in one coat!

4) Fit. If you have a labrador or a chihuahua, you might be able to find a coat to fit at the pet store. But what if you  have one of those difficult to fit breeds, and the coats on hand are either too short but fit around or long enough but too big everywhere else? A Made by De coat is made with the measurements of your dog so it fits all over.  If it fits, your dog will be much more comfortable.

Take a look at my website, www.madebyde.com.  See what I offer, styles, etc. If you have questions, want something different than what is listed, or want to talk to the person behind the product, I can be reached through the website contact page, by email at coatsmadebyde@gmail.com, by phone at 1-307-575-0133, or through one of my social media sites.  No matter how you do it, you always get me!

Fall! Dogcoat season

Fall is here!
Time for the dog coats!

I have been working on some great new stuff.  This coat has a girth strap that velcros on both sides to balance the coat and keep it centered.  It is made of super tough, absolutely gorgeous, diamond ripstop.  And, like all of my stuff, it is completely customizable.

This one, also made with my brand new diamond ripstop, has a velcro or solid neck and a tummy panel to keep those bellies warm.  you can add reflective strips, turtleneck, snood, or hood to either of these coats to create the perfect coat for your pup.

Isn't this stuff gorgeous?  I'm not sure which color is my favorite, but check out the iridescent diamond pattern.  It really looks nice!

And they can be lined with any of my windpro fleece colors.  This stuff is super dense and warm so it holds in heat really well.

Take a look at my website, www.madebyde.com for sizes, prices, measuring details, etc.  And if you don't see quite what you're looking for, just let me know and I'll see what I can come up with.

Summer has FLOWN by!

Dog Slinkie

I don't know about you, but summer seems like it has gone in the blink of an eye!  The kids are starting back to school.  The winter stuff is coming out in stores.  The Greeley Kennel Club Dog Show is this week. (Like how I fit that in there?) Made by De will be there!

Dog Raincoat

Made by De has been busy getting ready for the big show.  I'll have LOTS of cool coats, blingy cool coats, britches, belly bands, slinkies.......and many of my raincoat and winter fashions as well.  It won't be long before our pups will be needing those too.

Fashion Coat

I've been updating details and fabrics, so come check it out and see what's new. Fun fashions for the pooch that wants to be in style!

Quilted Dog Coat

This fabric was previously only available in black.  Take a look at this red!  The fabric is quilted and insulated and water repellent.  Super warm for those really cold days.

Extreme Dog Coat

Made of diamond ripstop, this coat is super tough.  Diamond Ripstop is 400 denier (4 x tougher than my standard ripstop) so if you want a really durable coat for your pup, this is the one!

The Greeley Kennel Club Dog Show starts on Thursday, August 18th, and ends Sunday, August 21st.  Come on by if you're in the area and see what I've got on hand, up close and personal.  And if you want to order in advance, I'll do my best to have your order ready and waiting for you when you come by.

I hope to see you soon!

Showdogs

Show season is in full swing!

Check out this little girl from one of my shows last year. It is usually HOT this time of year, so a cool coat really helped her out.

If you show dogs, you know that the show season is now underway.  You may be making plans for attending your breed specialty or maybe you're going to shows closer to home.  No matter how you participate in dog shows, if you're attending you have a number of issues to deal with in order to be as successful as possible.

Since I make dog clothing, I can help with some of these issues. I make each item using your dog's measurements and with your input so I can most closely fit the needs of you and your dog.

Keeping your dog from overheating and feeling like a limp noodle is usually a challenge in the heat.  My cool coats, both functional and fancy

as well as cool collars, all work through evaporation to keep your dog feeling fresh and energetic. Just soak them in water and wring out the excess.

If you have a long coated dog such as an Irish Setter

or a Cavalier Spaniel, you may have grooming issues.  My slinkies and grooming suits often come in handy for keeping coats smooth and clean or taming those curls.

And if you have a show dog, you have to have them intact, so diapers (britches or belly bands) may be needed to help manage any calls of nature that might come up.

I can customize to suit most any need so be sure to let me know what you have in mind and I can often come up with something that solves the problem.

Be sure to check out my website, www.madebyde.com, to see my current offerings.  And feel free to contact me to discuss new designs, new features, different colors, etc.  That's the beauty of custom, handmade work!

Try my dog cooling vests. Why keep your pups inside when the weather is so nice outside?

Why not let them enjoy the warm weather doing what you both love?

Dog cool coats help keep them comfortable and ready to run.

Dog lovers usually want to spend time with their pups doing fun stuff.  But that gets more complicated when your pup just wants to lay in the shade and chill because it is SOOOOO hot.

My cool coats are made of synthetic chamois.  You get them wet, wring out the extra water (if you don't want your dog wet too) and put them on.  They work through evaporation for several hours, inside or outside.

They are washable and don't get stiff when dried like real chamois or automotive chamois.  Just wash and air dry as needed.

They can be simple and functional like this one. Great for agility competitions, hiking the trails, etc.

Or blingy and beautiful, like these.  Your pup can make a fashion statement at ringside!

Harlow and Levi, the service dogs, are using theirs so they can focus on their jobs instead of wilting in the heat.

I can fit the tiny dogs, all the way up to the giants.

Isn't she gorgeous?

See my website, www.madebyde.com for all the style and color options.

Who wants that "Wet Dog Smell"? Dog raincoats keep the pups dry!

You know that "Wet Dog Smell"?  When it rains, that can be what you get.  Unless you take steps to keep those pups dry.

This is a new product I've started to make.  It is single layer, coated fabric, either polyester or cotton. This makes my raincoats very light weight for warmer weather.

They can be designed in a number of ways depending on your needs.  That's the beauty of custom!

This first picture shows a coat that is drapey and covers a lot of the furnishings of a long-coated dog. With hood and tummy panel, you dog will stay pretty darn dry.

This picture shows the underside.  Also hooded.  The coat pulls over the head, with a tummy panel that wraps around the "waist" and closes, either with velcro or a cargo buckle.

I can install a covered harness port for any coat or a D ring on the small coats.  Hoods or flip up collars, tummy panel or a strap, draping, darts, whatever! Let me know what you need and I can usually come up with something to meet that need.

The fabrics I have listed on my website, www.madebyde.com, or my Etsy store, Madebyde. Spring is the rainy time of year, so you might want to be ready!

Stuff happens! That's when dog diapers can help!

So, I know that diapers are a "sensitive subject".  Even doggie diapers are a bit taboo.  However, when you've got to deal with "it", they can make life easier if they are the right ones.

I make my dog diapers, or bitch britches, of cotton flannel fabric so that they are soft and non-abrasive. And if you look at the pictures, you'll see that they are cut so that they don't rub in the groin area and your dogs can move freely when wearing them.

I don't use waterproofing or elastic to keep down the irritation.  Simply place a pantiliner or incontinence pad with sticky tape in to catch the leaks. Just take out the pad when soaked and replace; cuts down on laundry.

This first style is one that I created.  It wraps around the groin, then has a strap on each side of the tail that comes up and attaches to the waistband.  No stuffing tails through holes!  And they are super adjustable so they are great for growing girls.

I also make the more traditional style with the tail hole.  Still made of cotton flannel for softness and comfort. These can also be made without a tail hole for breeds that don't need it.

And I can add suspenders to any of my britches so that they will stay on more securely.

And sometimes the boys need help too!  I make these as well; either tapered to be wider underneath where they cover the "equipment" or straight.

And, as with all my products, I make each one myself.  Custom orders are encouraged so your pup can have the perfect fit.

Have you ever been to a dog show?
